OWWA Offering Basic Life Support and First Aid Training



Administrator Marianito D. Roque recently announced that the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration through the Blas F. Ople Development Center (BFO – DevCen) for OFWs is now offering Basic Life Support and first aid Training to interested deperting overeas Filipino Workers.


Said course is in addition to the Language Training and Culture Familiarization being conducted to departing household service workers, who will work abroad for the first time in the country of destination. These courses are offered free of charge to the OFWs, provided that they can present their verified employment contracts or working visa.

The language Courses offered includes Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Hebrew, and Italian. Along with the mentioned language courses is a short Culture Familiarization seminar of the labor hosting countries’ customs and traditions. Moreover, Basic English Training is being conducted to those who have difficulty in speaking the language. The trainee who successfully finishes the required number of hours is issued a certificate of attendance.


The Center has facilities for conferences and training, modern auditorium and a dormitory that are available for any activity that is geared towards the development of OFWs.

According to Administrator Roque, OWWA is always ready in providing assistance and services for its 1.9 million OFWs registered members.
